"The decision to expel Chamber from the party and also from the post of SCFDC Vice Chairperson was taken by BSP state president last night after charges against her were found true," BSP zonal coordinator and MP Jugal Kishore said in a statement today.
Disha is the daughter of senior IAS officer and Principal Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies, J N Chamber and had joined BSP in 2009.
"She was given due security and made Vice Chairperson of SCFDC but there were complaints against her that she put undue pressure on officers for getting her work done.
She also took advantage of her father's name and did not coordinate with party workers," Kishore said.
He said Disha was initially given the task to work for the party in Hardoi but was shifted to Raebareli after complaints were received against her.
"Finding all the allegations of party workers against Disha to be true, the BSP decided to expel her," Kishore said.
Before joining BSP, 25-year-old Disha had joined the Youth Congress in 2008 through Rahul Gandhi's talent search programme.
Her father is considered close to Chief Minister Mayawati and had been her Principal Secretary twice besides holding the post of Principal Secretary, Home.
