Mayawati has been touring the state to take stock of various development works taken up by her government as the Assembly polls draw to a close.
The security personnel and the senior officials accompanying Mayawati went into a tizzy when the woman identified as Sunita Devi made a scene, seeking action against her father’s killers, whom according to her, were goons of Minister Thakur Jaiveer Singh . The efforts to pacify her went in vain as she refused to leave the ground before meeting the chief minister.
“I want justice. The minister got my engineer father killed after he refused to follow his diktats and indulge in corrupt deeds,” Sunita shouted out.
When all attempts to persuade the woman failed, the police personnel forcibly took her out of the spot. The officials also promised to look into the matter forthwith.
Sunita Devi from Ferozabad district, said that her father was killed when he was working in the irrigation department at Shikohabad a few years back.
According to her, the minister had exerted pressure on her father to divert the money meant for irrigational projects.
She alleged that her attempts to seek justice failed as a ruling party member was involved in the murder.
