UP Police prevents major communal conspiracy amid ‘Kanwar Yatra’ in Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Law and Order Prashant Kumar on July 24 in Lucknow, informed that the police prevented a major communal conspiracy amid the ‘Kanwar Yatra’ in Lucknow.

“A big communal conspiracy was prevented (on July 24) under Sherkot Police Station limits. Information was received about 2 people ransacking Jalal Shah Mazar and burning several 'chadar'. Police reached the spot,” the ADG said.

“Police arrested 2 brothers in this regard, namely Kamal and Adil. They tied a saffron-coloured cloth on their heads and conducted the incident. No damage was done to religious texts. The same incident happened at Qutub Shah Mazar in Sherkot at 11:30am, which went unnoticed,” he added.

“This whole matter shows attempts to soil the atmosphere amid the ‘Kanwar Yatra’. Continuous social media monitoring also underway,” he further added.
