The victim, a student of Bachelor of Dental Science (BDS) at Sharda University, hanged herself in her room in the girl’s hostel inside the Campus on Friday leaving behind a suicide note in which she blamed two teachers of her department for her death.

Police sources said that two teachers were suspended in this connection and a high power committee was set up by the Varsity to probe the matter. The teachers were taken into custody by the police and were being questioned.

The Varsity management had a meeting with the parents of the victim on Saturday during which it sought five days' time to act in the matter, sources said.

‘’The two teachers tortured me mentally, humiliated me…..I have been in depression for a long time owing to the humiliation…I want them to undergo the same agony…I can’t live any longer,’’ the victim allegedly said in the suicide note.

The victim has named the two teachers in her suicide note, sources said.

Enraged over the incident, the students of the Varsity staged a demonstration in the Campus demanding stern action against those responsible for the tragedy.

The mother of the victim said that the teachers had threatened to fail her in the examination. Police officials said that a case was lodged in this connection and the matter was being investigated.
