As per the report the woman's son, Guru Sharan Singh said, "I, along with my brothers, brought my mother to the emergency ward of the Mainpuri government hospital. She was serious and we placed her on the stretcher. The compounder and the nurse on duty were attending to other patients, but the doctor was sitting at his desk and was busy using his mobile phone. He passed order to the compounder and the nurse, and treated my mother as if she was a patient suffering from cough and cold. He said my mother would be fine after the nurse attended to her."
"My brothers and I were in complete distress. We were rubbing her arms and feet, as we didn't know what else to do about it. This situation went on for 15 minutes... Suddenly, blood started coming out of my mother's mouth. We were terrified and didn't know what to do. The doctor was still sitting in his chair. When he finally came towards us, it was in anger. He then slapped me," Singh added.
Chief Medical Superintendent Dr Madan Lal confirming the incident said, "An investigation into the matter has already been initiated. If found guilty, strict action will be taken against those responsible. The matter has been reported to higher authorities."
