Maha Kumbh, a mega-religious event organised every 12 years, is being held in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj from January 13 and will continue till February 26. Crores of devotees have taken a dip in the waters of Sangam. The event has attracted people from all walks of life -- from pilgrims and tourists to vendors.
A content creator, Shubham Prajapat, who is calling himself 'Kumbh Chaiwala', set up a tea stall at the gathering in a bid to see how much money he could earn. His claims of earning a profit of Rs 5,000 in a single day has captured the attention of the internet.
Prajapat posted a video, captioned "Selling Tea in Kumbh Mela". The video shows him selling tea and water bottles on a small cart. People visited his tea stall in the morning while afternoons were slower and gave him the opportunity to rest.
By evening, Prajapat would walk around the mela with his cart selling his product. He ended the video by claiming that he sold Rs 7,000 worth of tea in a day and made a profit of Rs 5,000. He joked in the video, “₹1,50,000 ek month ka?” (Is ₹1.5 lakh a month possible?), referencing the potential monthly earnings from selling tea at the Maha Kumbh Mela.
As the video gained much traction online, social media users surprised by his earnings, lauded his business plan while others tried to calculate his monthly earnings.
One user commented, “1 day = 5000, so 30 days = 150,000.” Another said “I think this can work for me too.”
“7000 hajar mein se 5000 profit? Wow!” said a user. Another quipped “Bro is inspiring me to leave study.”
