The deceased, identified as Manav Sharma, worked with TCS and was posted at Mumbai. He made a video before allegedly strangling himself at his residence at Defence Colony in the town, which went viral on social media on Friday.

The 6.57 minute long video purportedly showed Manav with a noose around his neck and pleading for a ‘’law to protect man’’.

‘’The law needs to protect men otherwise no one will be left to blame,’’ the man is heard saying in the video.

‘’I have no problem going...please talk about men...they are very lonely,’’ Sharma is heard saying before saying sorry to his parents.

According to the reports, Sharma died by suicide on Monday but the matter came to light after the video went viral on social media. Reports said that his sister found the video in his phone a couple of days after the incident.

Reports quoting Sharma’s father Narendra Sharma said that his son had told him that he was ‘tortured’ by his wife. Manav Sharma got married in January last year.

‘’My son used to tell me that his wife threatened to kill herself and implicate his family,’’ the father said. He said that he thought that everything would be alright between the couple with the passage of time but the situation only worsened with time.

Sharma's wife, however, denied the allegations and said that her husband often used to "beat" her.

Police said that the matter was being investigated.
