Lucknow: Prime minister Narendra Modi on Friday directed the police to ensure the strictest punishment in the alleged gang-rape of a woman by 22 people in PM's Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi.
Modi, who arrived on a visit to Varanasi, was briefed about the case by Varanasi division commissioner, the police commissioner and the district magistrate at the Babatpur Airport.
He asked the officials to nab all the accused persons and ensure that they get stern punishment.
The 19 year old woman woman was kidnapped and allegedly gang-raped by 22 people over a period of six days at different places in Varanasi .
The police have nabbed 11 accused persons and hunt to nab the others was on.
