Lucknow: One may have seen heroes in the Bollywood movies entering burning houses, not bothering about their life, and coming out with the trapped heroines.
A little girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Ambedkar Nagar also did that though for a different purpose. As the hut next to hers burnt, she entered her thatched hut, which was about to be demolished, to save her satchel!
A video, which has gone viral on social media platforms, shows the seven year old girl running out of a hut clutching a bag not caring for the leaping flames as the local officials watched in dismay.
The video showed another hut, very close, in flames, and the officials frantically looking for water to put out the fire.
The bag contained her copies and books. According to the reports, the girl studied at a nearby primary school.
‘’My books and copies would have been burnt if I had not gone there and brought my satchel out....I would not have been able to continue my studies,’’ the girl, identified as Ananya, said.
The video was shared by Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav, who wrote, " In Ambedkar Nagar of UP, an administrative officer is demolishing people's huts to show off his power and a girl is forced to run to save her books. These are the same BJP people who say: Save daughters, educate daughters!"
Reports said that Ananya’s thatched hut had caught fire during an anti-encroachment drive at Arai village in Ambedkar Nagar district during which many huts were demolished with the help of bulldozers by the local officials a couple of days back.
Local SP leaders said that they would get the girl admitted to a good school and bear all the expenses incurred on her studies.
