A village in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh recently saw a 'scandal' when a man, Rahul eloped with his intended bride's mother days before his wedding which was scheduled to take place in April.
According to media reports, a probe by cops in the case have now revealed that Rahul had earlier eloped with another woman a year ago from the same village.
Rahul, who disappeared after running away with the woman who belonged to a neighbouring village, had returned two months later.
As the woman's family didn't want to take any action against him, they never filed a complaint about the incident.
According to media reports, Rahul took the help of his friends when he eloped with his fiance's mother.
His friends had escorted the duo to the Kasganj railway station on a two-wheeler to help them run away.
The police have detained Rahul's friends and his brother-in-law in the case.
Rahul who hails from Dadon was engaged to a girl from a village in Madrak, but he eloped with his would be mother-in-law days before the wedding.
The mother-in-law had provided Rahul a mobile phone using which they used to have conversations during which the 38-year-old woman starting taking romantic interest in her 20-year-old soon to be son-in-law.
