Lucknow: The parents of Muskan, who had, with her lover, brutally murdered her husband Saurabh Rajput and thereafter packed his body into a drum after chopping it in pieces, in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut town in March this year, have reportedly decided to leave the city and settle elsewhere following ‘social’ and ‘financial’ boycott.
While both Muskan and her lover Sahil Shukla were in jail, Muskan’s parents were bearing the brunt of her deeds. Her father has slipped into depression and was undergoing treatment and the customers have deserted his jewellery shop resulting in financial losses.
Muskan’s younger sister, who took tuitions to support the family, has also been boycotted by the parents of the students.
According to the reports, the family had put up a 'house for sale’ board outside their residence in Bramhapuri area in the city. It was however later removed.
‘’Even the old customers have stopped buying ... .they no longer visit the jewellery shop…..no student comes for tuition to Muskan’s sister,’’ said a member of the family.
‘’We are not invited to any social events by relatives or other acquaintances…we have become untouchable after the incident,’’ he added.
Reports said that the family was planning to leave the town and settle elsewhere and start afresh.
‘’It is a humiliation to continue to live here ... .everyone knows about the incident,’’ the member said.
Muskan’s family has severed their ties with her and never visited her in the jail.
According to the police, Muskan and Sahil brutally killed Saurabh, chopped his body into pieces and packed them in a drum and filled it with cement on March three this year. She later went to Uttarakhand with Sahil and returned after a fortnight.
They were arrested upon their return and allegedly confessed to the killing.
