Lucknow: Unable to buy insulin for his diabetic daughter, a man killed himself on a live stream video on Facebook, narrating his plight and appealing for help.

The man, identified as Shazeb Shakeel alias Sheebu, resident of Vikas Nagar locality in Lucknow, shot himself with the gun of a security guard at his office after livestreaming the video on Wednesday.

Police sources here said that Shazeb was in the real estate business and had racked up considerable debt.

Shazeb owed Rs 15 crore in loans and had incurred huge losses in business.He said in the video thtat his financial condition had worsened so much that he did not have money to purchase insulin injections for his diabetic daughter.

He was heard appealing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, inductrialists and film stars for help in the video. "I have been in depression for the past over two years...I have accumulated a debt of Rs 15 crore and I don't have money to buy insulin injection for my diabetic daughter," he said in the video.

He said that he appealed to many people for help but none came forward to help him and that he was left with no option but to die by suicide. "I hope you help my family...I am going far away," Shazeb said in the video.

He named one L K Tomar as the person who had mentally tortured him and hurt him in his business.

Police said that preliminary probe revealed that Shazeb killed himself owing to debt and mental tension. The body has been sent for postmortem examination and the matter is being investigated, they added.
