Lucknow: Almost 16 months after the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple, Ayodhya is all set to witness a series of consecration ceremonies next month at several temples within the Ram Janmabhoomi Complex.
According to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which is overseeing the construction of the Ram Temple, consecration ceremonies will take place at 14 temples on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra on June 5.
A Trust official said in Ayodhya that the first consecration ceremony would be of a Shivling inside the Ram Temple Complex. The Shivling, which was four feet tall, was brought to Ayodhya last year.
He said that the rituals for the consecration ceremonies would start from May 30. ‘’As many as 101 acharyas and priests from Kashi and Ayodhya will perform the rituals at the consecration ceremonies,’’ he added.
The seven day long rituals would include a series of special pujas followed by other rituals, the official said.
The temples where the consecration ceremonies would be performed were that of Lord Shiva, Sun, Lord Ganesha, Nishadraj, Shabari, Maharshi Valmiki, Maharishi Vashishta and Ahilya, Laxam among others.
‘’It is going to be a historic event,’’ the official said, adding that lakhs of devotees from across the country were expected to be present in Ayodhya on this occasion. ‘’Preparations are on for these ceremonies,’’ he added.
The consecration ceremony of Ram Lala at the Ram Temple had taken place on January 22 last year in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
