According to the reports, the 11th class student, who studied at a private college in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly town, felt humiliated as she stood outside the office of the headmistress even as her bleeding continued. She had to finally go home in the same clothes. The incident happened on Saturday.

Reports said that the enraged parents of the student lodged a complaint with the district education officials against the school management. ‘’Our child suffered mental humiliation owing to the incident. The guilty teachers must be punished,’’ the mother of the student said.

The principal of the college Rachana Arora, however, said that the student had already left for home when she (principal) got the information. ‘’Ours is a girls’ college and hence every teacher has sanitary pads. We are investigating why she was not provided one,’’ she added.

A senior district education official said in Bareilly that a complaint had been received from the parents in this regard and the matter was being investigated. ‘’We will take action against the college management if the allegation is found to be correct,’’ he said.
