Lucknow: A teacher at Lucknow University found herself staring at trouble after an alleged video after the Pahalgam terror attack, in which she purportedly said that both, killing of 28 tourists at Pahalgam after asking about their religion and bulldozing people’s houses after ascertaining the names of their owners were terrorism.
The teacher, Madri Kakoti, an assistant professor in the Varsity, also castigated the media for what she termed as busy trying to gain TRP over the dead bodies and not asking the right questions to the government.
‘’Such a big lapse occurred and so many people lost their lives, but the media failed to question the authorities,’’ she said.
‘’Shooting someone after asking about his religion is terrorism.....but lynching someone after ascertaining his religion, bulldozing someone’s house after ascertaining the religion of the owner are also terrorism,’’ she said in the video.
Kakoti was heard asking the people to ‘identify’ the ‘’real terrorist’’.
According to the reports, her video was re-posted from Pakistani social media handles.
Scores of ABVP workers on Sunday held a ‘dharna’ inside the Varsity campus in protest against the video and demanding action against the teacher. The ABVP workers demanded registration of an FIR against Kakoti.
The ABVP workers also lodged a complaint against Kakoti at the Hasanganj police station in Lucknow. The police said that they would take action on the matter after investigating the video.
