In a heartbreaking incident seen on the ground of Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, a differently abled man crawled barefoot carrying his wife on his back to a government office. The couple, hailing from a village named Kunji, highlighted the problem of having no roads to their house.

Identified as Ashok Kumar, the man went on his knees to the District Magistrate's office, requesting for a road to facilitate easy commute. He entered the premises carrying his wife on his back.

The emotional moment was filmed on camera, however, no one stepped in to help Ashok and his wife. The visuals from Azamgarh showed people watching the man crawling and painstakingly approaching the DM's office. But they didn't extend any assistance.

As the footage rolled out on social media, netizens quickly condemned the incident. They felt sad for the couple and urged the authorities to consider their road request.

Ashok has submitted a written plea to the DM, seeking road construction in his area.

Reacting to the videos from the government office, which widely circulated online, one Instagram user wrote, "In a country where roads lead to mansions, 1 man begs for a path to dignity."

Another user called out at the people who failed to escort the differently-abled man, who vividly was struggling. "Shameful," they commented.

In an update, shared by journalist Piyush Rai, it was learned that the couple had a tricyle, which had lost its charge. Also, the office wasn't wheelchair accessible as the couple couldn't ride it over the ramp.
