Lucknow: A day after the resignation of the state administrative service officer Alankar Agnihotri in protest against alleged humiliation of Swami Avimukteshwarananda and the new UGC Regulation, Ayodhya GST Commissioner Prashant Kumar Singh resigned on Tuesday (January 27) expressing ‘anguish’ over the Seer’s allegations against prime minister Narendra Modi and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath.

A video, which went viral on social media, purportedly showed Singh crying while speaking to the reporters during which he announced his resignation.

In his resignation letter sent to governor Anandiben Patel, Singh said that he was resigning in support of Adityanath and in protest against Avimukteshwarananda’s remarks. ‘’The seer’s remarks are against the Constitution and democracy,’’ he said.

‘’Swami Avimukteshwaranand has made baseless allegations against Modi and union minister Amit Shah,’’ he added in his resignation letter.

Singh also said that the seer had been instigating ‘innocent’ officials through ‘allurements’ against the state government.

The official said that Avimukteshwaranand has been trying to ‘destibilise’ the state and the country through casteist remarks.

‘’I'm an employee of the state government and therefore I'm deeply hurt by the remarks against the CM,’’ he said.
