A doctor has been accused of murdering his wife while the family was vacationing in Bangkok, Thailand. The wife allegedly drowned in hotel bathtub.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, Priyanka Sharma, her husband Dr Ashish Srivastava and their son Prishu went to Bangkok for a holiday on January 4. On January 8, around 3 am, Priyanka's family received a call that Priyanka had drowned in the bathtub.
Priyanka's family accused Srivastava of orchestrating the crime. Satyanarayan Sharma, Priyanka's father claimed that Ashish had killed his daughter by giving her some medicine. In order to hide his crime, Ashish had made up a story around it.
The family also lodged a police complaint after which the PGI police registered a case and started an investigation.
“A case has been registered under relevant sections at the PGI police station and legal proceedings are underway,” said Ravi Shankar Tripathi, SHO, PGI police station.
Priyanka and Ashish got married in 2017. Hailing from Lucknow, Ashish runs his own practice of an ortho and pain clinic at Ashiana and Indira Nagar.
The family alleged, that very early on in their marriage, the couple had started experiencing problems. Priyanka accused her husband of having an affair with another woman and alleged he was harassing her.
Priyanka had also gone to police in 2022 to register a complaint however, the matter was solved between the two families.
Satyanarayan Sharma also said that Priyanka had called him a day before she died saying she had been given something which had made her vomit all night.
