Lucknow: In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly killed her six months old twin daughters in Haridwar town in Uttarakhand as they ‘’often cried’’ during the nights depriving her of her sleep.
According to the reports, the 20-year old accused, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district, was charged with murdering her twin daughters after she was interrogated by the cops following her arrest.
Reports said that the woman earlier told the cops that she found her daughters unconscious when she returned home after purchasing some household items four days back. The infants were rushed to the hospital and declared dead on arrival by the doctors.
She, however, later confessed to her crime and told the cops that she was fed up with their cries during the nights.
‘’They would often cry at night. I was unable to sleep. I always tried my best to make them stop crying but did not succeed ,’’ she said during her interrogation. She said that she was so irritated that she pressed their mouths with a quilt, suffocating them to death.
The husband of the woman, a resident of Tehri district in Uttarakhand, who worked at a private firm in Jwalapur locality in Haridwar, had suspected foul play after being informed by his wife that the infants were found unconscious and lodged a complaint with the police.
The autopsy report of the infants revealed that they died by asphyxiation.
