A wave of celebration gripped Karnataka and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans worldwide on June 3, as RCB ended their long wait for an IPL title. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru sealed a thrilling 6-run victory against Punjab Kings in a gripping IPL 2025 final at Ahmedabad.
As Bengaluru streets lit up in red with joyous celebration by RCB fans, a quiet, heartfelt celebration unfolded far away in Delhi, where Virat Kohli’s family celebrated RCB’s long-awaited win—a dream they had held close for 18 years.
Days after RCB’s historic win, Virat Kohli’s sister Bhawna Kohli Dhingra took to social media to pen a heartfelt note, pouring out her emotions. She wrote “his night this moment where we celebrate this dream which made us cry which made us laugh but the wait that you did is far too long every second of the moment needs to be experienced with stillness and a strange calmness that it’s actually done 🙏🏻🧿All of us can’t express the humility and thankfulness towards almighty and millions of fans who were right behind RCB through thick and thin this win is everybody’s personal win .Your tears were felt in the eyes of everyone who loves you ,we cried with you because you my little Veeru are gods chosen one who brings so much joy and inspiration in everyone ,blessed to witness this and someone in heaven is smiling in his usual smile looking at his son making him proud .” (sic)
In another post, she also shared a series of warm photos showing family and friends enjoying the final together at home. The pictures showed Virat Kohli’s siblings enjoying the match with their friends at their home. “Years of faith, struggle, and love — today, it all came full circle. After all the battles, this moment means more than words can ever capture. A win that belongs to all but its more special as our loved ones, friends and family stand together with us” (sic)
While Bhawna Kohli Dhingra’s emotional post after RCB’s win garnered thousands of likes and supportive comments, one user’s sceptical remark caught attention. The user asked why Kohli "never mentions you in any speech or even don’t like your post. Not even Anushka do.lol (sic)." To which Bhawana politely replied, saying "may god give you the patience to understand love can exist in many ways which is not necessarily shown to world but it’s still there like the love for almighty. Hope you have enough love in your life no insecurities only true bond which don’t need any validation God bless you. (sic)"

Several users came out to support Bhawna, agreeing with her sentiment and commenting that true love and relationships don’t need to be displayed on Instagram to be real.
There has long been speculation that Virat Kohli has grown distant from his family after his wedding with Anushka Sharma, as they are rarely seen at his matches or on casual outings and dinners. Bhawna once addressed these rumours by sharing a throwback photo with Virat, captioned, “Distance doesn't matter when the heart is close.” However, many believe that everything is fine within the family and not all relationships need to be displayed on social media.
