With the counting mid-way, Congress appears to have made impressive gains in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in terms of vote share.

But the interesting statistics comes from Chhattisgarh, which always went to the wires when it came to vote share, the BJP's share has nosedived by around 9% this time compared to 2013 Assembly elections.

The trends as of now showed that Congress, which is winning Chhattisgarh hands down, slightly improved from 40.29% voteshare last time to 43.3% as per trends available with Election Commission at 2 PM.

However, BJP which bagged 41.04% in 2013 is down to 32.1% and one of its worst performance in the state since its inception in 2003.

In Madhya Pradesh where a neck-and-neck contest will decide the winner, Congress has improved its vote share from 36.38% to 40.9%. Here, the BJP has a better vote share compared to Congress but it has declined from 44.8% to 41.8%.

Rajasthan, where Congress is likely to overthrow the BJP government, also gave no relief for BJP as its vote share fell from 45.17% to 38.3%. Congress has improved from 33.07% to 39.1%.
