New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said India used its ‘right to respond’ to the attack on its soil but showed “sensitivity by not allowing any civilian population to be affected at all.”

“The targets we had set, have been destroyed with precision as per the planned plan. We have shown sensitivity by not allowing any civilian population to be affected at all,” the minister said at an event to mark the Border Roads Organisation’s raising day.

In the morning Rajnath met the three Service Chiefs and subsequently attended the Cabinet Committee on Security meeting chaired by the Prime Minister to take stock of the security situation in the wake of the Operation Sindoor, launched jointly by the Indian Army and Indian Air Force to hit at nine terror establishments inside Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

"Through Operation Sindoor, India has used its 'right to respond' to the attack on its soil, and the armed forces scripted history by acting with precision, precaution and compassion to destroy the camps used to train terrorists in Pakistan and PoK," he said addressing the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Raising Day celebrations.

“We have followed the ideal of Hanuman ji, which he had followed while destroying Ashok Vatika, ‘Jin mohi mara, tin mohi maare’ meaning we killed only those who killed our innocents,” he said.

Applauding the armed forces, he said, “the whole world has witnessed what Indian armed forces have done. The action was carried out very thoughtfully and in a measured manner. It was limited only to the camps and other infrastructure used for training terrorists, with the aim of breaking their morale.”
