Chabad House - earlier known as the Nariman House - is located in Colaba Causeway and was one of the targets of the terrorists.

The six-storey building was run by Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg who belonged to Chabad-Lubavitch, an orthodox Jewish group.

Though the couple died in the attacks, their son Moshe was saved by his Indian nanny.

“We thank the Government of India for its efforts in bringing perpetrator of 26/11 Mumbai attacks to justice. We welcome this step towards accountability for the horrific attacks that claimed many lives, including Israelis,” said Reuven Azar, the Ambassador of Israel.

Meanwhile, Mumbai-based Kobbi Shoshani, who is Consul General of Israel to Midwest India said, “After the attacks, I came to India. I was sent by the Minister of Foreign Affairs before my current tenure here, and I still remember entering Nariman House, going to the Taj Mahal Hotel, VT Station, and Leopold Café.

"I remember that day vividly. I can still smell the gunpowder and recall the darkness and the fear of death in the corridors of Nariman House since 2008. I think today may not be the final closure of the circle, but it is definitely a very important step”.

“It is a big success to diplomacy, it is a big success to the Modi government. I think it is also very important to the victims and the families of 26/11,” he added.
