Taking to Instagram, actress Swastika Mukherjee shared that a delivery partner from Swiggy Genie fled with two tickets for the India vs England T20I cricket match at Eden Gardens.
The incident occurred on Tuesday about which the actress shared on social media on Wednesday. The tickets belonged to Mukherjee's manager.
Mukherjee's Instagram post read, "THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US TODAY, IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU TOMORROW! SHARE THIS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY @swiggyindia @swiggy_genie Via • @lipstickler *Theft Alert* Two tickets for today’s India vs England match at Eden Gardens was stolen by a @swiggyindia genie executive yesterday. It was to be delivered from New Town action area 2 to New Town action area 1. It’s been 13 hours, and the thief has not been caught despite the company having his details."
It further read, "The order for the ticket delivery was placed at 6.30 pm. And it showed that the delivery partner was en route all along. After an hour, the delivery partner blocked me and my partner’s number and stopped taking calls from any numbers. The delivery partner marked the order delivered at 5.37 am. It’s been more than 13 hours and Swiggy hasn’t help in anyway. Does Swiggy/other delivery patforms promote the stealing of parcels to safeguard their brand or their delivery executives?"
Mukherjee shared a screenshot picture of the Swiggy order asserting that the tickets were for her manager's father who is a huge fan of the sport and had travelled from Kanpur to watch the match.
She wrote, "Those tickets were for my partners father who has never seen a live match inspite of being a huge fan of cricket. He has traveled all the way from Kanpur to witness a match at Eden Gardens. The tickets are gone, and I’ve lost all hopes to get them back. Because the Police couldn’t help in this case either. But what I’m irritated with is how is Swiggy sitting with tight lips when they have all the details of the thief? Isn’t this service to get things delivered? How can one trust the brand if they’re to work and promote thieves?"
The actress shared the number of the delivery partner and urged people to share the incident to create awareness about the crime.
The Instagram post ended with Mukherjee writing, "Please help share this so that nobody else has to face this harassment and people like Shubham do not get away with a crime like this."
