In a shocking incident in Patna, a BJP leader and businessman, Gopal Khemka, was killed on Friday night while returning home. He was brutally attacked and shot on the streets. Police later collected a bullet shell from the crime spot.
Who was Gopal Khemka?
Gopal Khemka was a prominent industrialist and the owner of Magadh Hospital in Patna, though he reportedly sold the hospital after losing his son in a similar attack in 2018.
Known as an industrialist, Khemka was also involved in local politics as a member of the BJP.
He was a resident of the Twin Tower society, near which he was shot dead by bikers on Friday night. The chilling incident occurred near the Panache Hotel, falling under the jurisdiction of the Gandhi Maidan police station.
He also had a son named Gunjan, who was 38 years old at the time of his death in 2018.

"On the night of July 4, at around 11 pm, we received information that businessman Gopal Khemka has been shot dead in the south area of the Gandhi Maidan... The crime scene has been secured, and further investigation is underway... One bullet and one shell have been recovered," Patna SP Diksha told news agency ANI.
The forensic team soon visited the spot for further investigation. The police is also conducting its own probe.
RJD MP Manoj Jha slammed the government and public security in Bihar in his reaction towards the killing of the BJP leader. "Is there anything called government here? I will not ask this question to anyone now. The murderers believe that the government is theirs. They can do whatever they want, whenever they want; the state government has no authority... They should be ashamed. What have they done to Bihar," he told ANI.
