The US Department of Homeland Security informed the family of Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister, who was shot dead in Bandra on October 12, 2024, that Anmol had been deported.

"My family has registered as a victim family in the United States. From the victim notification, we get updates about Anmol Bishnoi. Today, we've got a mail that the federal government has removed Anmol Bishnoi from the United States as of 18th November," Zeeshan told ANI.

Anmol is one of the most wanted organised criminals in India. His return is a breakthrough for Indian agencies that have been attempting to crack down on the Bishnoi gang's massive international network that is suspected to be operating from North America.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reacted to the deportation, saying, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are not going to spare anyone who is against the country No matter where the accused is, the government will do the work of searching for them and bringing them back.”

NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique, who is the son of the Baba Siddique said the family had registered as a victim family with the US Justice Department, enabling them to receive updates about the case.

"We have been registered as a victim family in the US, so from the victim notification, we get updates about Anmol Bishnoi. Today we received a mail saying the federal government has removed Anmol from the US as of November 18, 2025," he said while interacting with the media.

Further, Zeeshan appealed to both the Centre and the Maharashtra government to ensure Anmol is brought straight to Mumbai for interrogation. "My request is to bring him back and ensure he is interrogated and arrested, because he is a real threat to society," he said.

Who is Anmol Bishnoi?

Anmol hails from Punjab’s Fazilka district. He was on the run since fleeing India on a forged passport.

According to investigators, he left India via Nepal before flying to Dubai, Kenya and eventually landing in the US, where he was detained in November 2024. It set in motion a deportation process that concluded on Tuesday.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has listed Anmol among India’s ‘most wanted’ and had announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to his arrest.

He faces at least 18 criminal cases in India, including the conspiracy to murder Baba Siddique, who was shot by three armed assailants and sustained three bullet injuries.

Further, Anmol is also wanted in the May 2022 killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, which remains one of the most significant cases against him. Agencies allege that he coordinated the murder from abroad.

The gangster is also wanted for the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s Bandra home in April 2024, an attack that investigators suspected was carried out by the Bishnoi network.
