Besides what has been cited by Wikileaks, "there are many things which have already shown that the US government has tried to influence Indian governments. Some of the Indian governments have been influenced by them," he told reporters outside Parliament House.
When asked about the mention of Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee's name in one of the US diplomatic cables to its mission in Delhi, he said, "I am not taking about individuals, I am talking that they (the US) have been exercising their influence on the Government of India on various sectors and various fields and this is well known."
