A young Mumbai woman delivered healthy twins - a boy and girl in the Mumbai-Visakhapatnam Express train, at dawn, a railway official said.

The incident happened when the Train No. 18520 arrived at Kalyan station Platform No. 4 at 7.52 am when the woman passenger Salma Tabassum Shaikh suddenly went into labour pains. RPF personnel rose to the occasion and helped her in the delivery. The train halted for half-an-hour at the station

After the successful delivery, the woman deboarded the train and was taken in an ambulance to the Rukminibai Hospital for post-delivery care.

The woman is a resident of Ghatkopar, Mumbai.
