A woman was shot at by her neighbour for driving out a goat which was eating vegetables from her garden at an interior village in Imphal West district of Manipur, police said today.
Yumkhaibam Thoibi (35) and her children drove out a goat of her neighbour Moinam Majar (60) from her house at Hiyangthang Tarahei Khongjil Chingya, about 35 km from here, yesterday, police said.
An argument followed during which Majar took out her double barrel rifle and shot at her neighbour who sustained injuries on her eyebrows.
Majar was arrested, the police said.
The injured was taken to a nearby hospital where her condition was stated to be out of danger.
