YouTuber, singer and reality show participant Armaan Malik is back in the headlines after demanding a gun license from Punjab Police.
In a viral video, Armaan alleged receiving death threats and said that a gun license is essential for his safety.
The video, which now stands deleted, went viral in no time and shocked his fans and fellow artists across Punjab.
Harmful groups have consistently targeted artists from Punjab and face death threats and ransom from time to time. Armaan Malik, the budding star in Punjab cine industry, is the latest victim to it.
“I also applied for an arms license for my safety, so that at the very least, I could protect my family myself. But each time, the administration has stopped me, citing that there is a case against me – a case that is completely false and baseless, and whose truth is currently being addressed in the honourable court. I have complete faith in our judiciary that, in the end, truth will prevail. But until then, should my family and I continue to live under the fire of insecurity?" Armaan made the request in a video that has since been deleted.
The Bigg Boss OTT 2 participant appealed to authorities to understand the seriousness of his situation, stressing the need for an arms license to protect his family. “As a father and responsible citizen, I have the right to defend myself and my children. This request is not rebellious, but a plea for safety,” he said.
In the video caption, Armaan said he’s faced ongoing threats to his life and family, despite following legal channels. “I’ve always trusted the law, but the fear persists.” However, the cause behind deleting the video remains unknown.
