Ahmedabad: In what is suspected to be a case of mass suicide, a family of five, including a couple and their three minor children, were found dead at their residence in Bagodara, Ahmedabad district. While investigation is going on, initial findings suggested that the family was going through financial distress.

The incident was reported in Bagodara, about 60 km from Ahmedabad city. The locality falls under Ahmedabad rural police's jurisdiction. The police were alerted by the neighbours at around 1:30 am. When the police team reached, they found five dead bodies of the family.

The deceased have been identified as Vipul Vaghela, 34, his wife Sonal, 26, and their three children—Karina, 11, Mayur, 8 and Princy, 5. According to locals, Vipul was an auto-rickshaw driver and had shifted to Bagodara from Barkotha in Dholka town barely a month ago.

A senior police officer said all angles behind the death including financial stress were being investigated.
