Prathidhwani, a welfare forum of IT employees in Kerala, has sought urgent intervention of the Centre in this regard. A social media post made by the forum is being widely backed by many, who are said to be victims.

The complaint has come up against tech giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

According to Prathidwani, many senior IT professionals across the country are facing the issue. Most of them had quit their existing jobs after receiving offer letters from TCS. Just days before the scheduled joining date, and on the same day in some cases, candidates were informed that their joining has been postponed by two to three months. In some cases, there is no information regarding their onboarding.

"This has left numerous professionals without a job or income, placing them and their families under immense emotional and financial stress," Prathidwani said in a LinkedIn post made five days ago.

Backing the LinkedIn post of Prathidhwani, many IT professionals said that they were facing the issue.

One of the candidates in Kerala who faced the bitter experience told DH that he had received the offer letter from the TCS's iBegin portal with a joining date in the middle of July. Hence, he quit his existing job with a leading IT firm after serving the three months notice period.

However, after he went to the TCS centre on the said day, the HR team said they have no communication regarding his recruitment. Following subsequent communications, he was informed that he would be able to join by next week. But, he has not received any formal communication yet.

"There are many like me with many years of experience who have now become jobless as TCS is delaying the joining after giving offer letters," he said.

Prathidwani on Saturday sent representations to minister of labour and employment Mansukh Mandaviya and minister of electronics and information technology Ashwini Vaishnaw seeking urgent intervention into the issue.

Prathidhwani convenor Rajeev Krishnan told DH that to their knowledge, so far at least 25 persons from Kerala were affected. Majority of those who backed the social media post were from other states, he said

DH sent an email query to TCS on Saturday seeking comments on the allegation. It is yet to be answered.
