The incident, initially reported by Chandan P, 23, involved the theft of gold jewellery worth around Rs 3 lakh while he was returning from a party. Police investigations have now revealed that the robbery was planned by Chandan's friends, Achal and Pavan, along with Pavan’s friends, Tarun and Prem.

According to police, Pavan and Achal had observed Chandan frequently wearing expensive jewellery and conspired to rob him. They orchestrated the scheme by inviting Chandan to a party. After leaving the party past midnight, Achal stopped their car abruptly, when Prem and Tarun, posing as robbers who arrived on a scooter, carried out the robbery.

Following the incident, Achal and Pavan convinced Chandan not to file a police complaint and pretended they had also been robbed of their valuables. However, Chandan grew suspicious after observing his friends' phone calls and reported the incident a week later. Investigations, utilising CCTV footage and other technical evidence, led to the arrests of Pavan, Achal, Prem, and Tarun, police said.
