Bengaluru: Three employees of the BBMP’s Mahalakshmipuram sub-division in the West Zone have been shown the door for dereliction of duty.

The action was taken after it was found that they failed to upload complaints received during three public meetings on the Sahaaya 2.0 platform and did not take steps to address them.

Those dismissed include assistant engineers Santosh and Chandana BS, both on deputation from the Water Resources Department, and Babu, a contractual junior health inspector.

The orders were issued by BBMP Chief Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao, signalling that the civic body is now taking complaints submitted on the Sahaaya platform more seriously.

During an inspection, the commissioner found that no action had been taken on the complaints. He warned engineers that failure to address ward-level grievances received on Sahaaya 2.0 would be treated as non-compliance and would attract disciplinary action.
