Manjunath and Shobha, a couple from Kumbragodu in Koppa taluk, had twin boys. Owing to differences of opinion, Shobha took one of the five-year-old twins and left him at a house in the taluk. She later went missing.

Manjunath searched for his wife and son, but in vain.

Recently, he got a tip-off about the couple who is looking after his son and went there to inquire. While Manjunath was asking about the child, local residents mistook him for a kidnapper and after thrashing him, handed him over to the police.

Manjunath later filed a complaint with Jayapura police. During the inquiry, it was found that Manjunath's son was studying in a school in Class 5.

As per procedure, the boy was produced before the district child welfare committee and was handed over to his father's custody.

Shedding tears of joy, Manjunath thanked the police.

Police personnel Kalavathi, Nagaraj, Sathish and ASI Ravikumar were part of the probe.
