Chintamani (Chikkaballapur district): A 48-year-old teacher collapsed and died due to a heart attack, while teaching in the classroom at the government lower primary school at K Kuruppalli village in the taluk on Saturday.

T K Manjunath, a native of Kotapalli in Srinivaspur taluk of neighbouring Kolar district, suddenly collapsed while taking a class at around 9 am.

His colleagues and local residents rushed him to a private hospital in Chintamani, where doctors declared him dead. The doctors confirmed that Manjunath had died of a heart attack.

The teacher is survived by his wife and two children. Manjunath's last rites were performed at his native village on Saturday evening.
