New Delhi: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday and requested the central government to sanction several road projects including Bengaluru-Pune Greenfield Expressway and tunnel roads in Bengaluru city.

The CM along with PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi reviewed the highway works progress in the state with the Union Minister.

The CM also assured the Union Minister to ensure early acquisition of lands and removal of utilities including power lines and water pipes for early execution of ongoing highways works, said a statement.

In the memorandum, the CM asked the Union Minister to sanctioning of construction of tunnel connecting Mysuru Road (NH-275) and Hosur Road (NH-48 & NH-75) (Electronic city) via Tumakuru Road (NH-48), Ballari Road (NH-44) and Old Madras Road (Old NH-4) in Bengaluru City.

While requesting to enhance the sanctions of national highway works to Rs.24,000 crore under the upcoming annual plan 2025-26, the memorandum also requested for construction of flyover at Hebbal junction in Bengaluru City on NH-44.

The memorandum also included sanctioning of 9 Grade Separators on NH-275 in Mysore ring road for de -congestion of traffic, construction of tunnel at Shiradi Ghat from Km 237 to 263 (Maranhalli to Addahole Section) of NH-75 (Old NH-48), early sanction of Pune- Bengaluru Greenfield Expressway, construction of elevated corridor in Belagavi city on NH-4 (Pune Bangalore Road) for de-congestion of Belagavi city traffic, widening of road to four lane from Kalaburagi-Wadi- Yadgiri-Kadechur-Jadcherla Section, construction of 2L+PS Greenfield Combined Bypass to Bheemrayanagudi & Shahapur Town on NH- 150A (Jewargi-Chamrajnagar Section) in Yadgir district, the statement said
