Dismissing news reports that he would defect to the Congress, JD(S) MLA Y S V Datta on Thursday said that he would stay loyal to his party.
Addressing the media in Bengaluru, Datta said that his closeness to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah may have fuelled these rumours. He said he had stayed away from the party affairs in the recent months as he was concentrating more on development works in his constituency, Kadur. He said that he has been part of the Janata Parivar for the last 40 years, right from the JP movement to the present day JD(S). Further, his loyalty to party supremo H D Deve Gowda remained intact.
