Girish (39), a resident of Madenadu village in Madikeri taluk, is reportedly in a coma in Guyana due to a serious illness.

His wife Janaki, currently in Bengaluru, has appealed to the government to help bring him back to India.

Janaki said, “For the past two and a half years, my husband Girish has been working as a nursing officer at the Sheriff General Hospital in Panama City, Guyana. I live in Bengaluru with our two-and-a-half-year-old child. On Thursday last, when I spoke to him over the phone, he informed that he was not feeling well. Later, he suffered a stroke and has been in a coma ever since. He needs to be brought back to India for advanced treatment. We need the government’s support,” she said.

She said “I have already contacted MPs Tejasvi Surya and Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, and they have assured of support.
The hospital has asked us visit Guyana. However, we are unsure about the availability of advanced medical treatment in Guyana. It would be better if he is brought to India for treatment,” she said.
