Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has handed over an ex-gratia of Rs. 50,000 to the family of Bindu, who was killed after a building at Kottayam medical college hospital collapsed, and assured further assistance.
Ports minister V N Vasavan called on the family on Friday and handed over the ex-gratia. He later told reporters that the cabinet would later take a decision regarding the demands for further financial assistance to the family.
He also said that the Kottayam medical college would take care of Bindu's daughter's ongoing treatment. A temporary job will be soon provided to Bindu's son and a decision on a permanent job would be considered in due course.
