Thiruvananthapuram: A woman hailing from Palakkad in Kerala was hospitalized with suspected Nipah infection.
The 38-year-old woman is reportedly admitted at a hospital in Malappuram district. Preliminary tests found Nipah infection and hence further tests were being conducted to confirm.
In May a 42-year-old woman was tested positive for Nipah in Malappuram. She later recovered.
Over the last few years Nipah cases have been regularly reported in Kerala. In 2018 the state witnessed a major Nipah outbreak that claimed twenty lives.
