The Thackeray-Fadnavis meeting took place at the chamber of Legislative Council Chairperson Prof Ram Shinde.

Worli MLA and former minister Aaditya Thackeray, the son of the former Chief Minister, too was present.

The 20-minute meeting has sparked off political discussions and speculations.

A day earlier during the farewell to Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Council Ambadas Danve, Fadnavis told Thackeray, “During the farewell of Danve, who is from Shiv Sena (UBT), Fadnavis specifically addressed Thackeray.

“At least till 2029, there is no scope for us to come there (opposition). Uddhav Ji can think about the scope of coming to this side (ruling party) and that can be thought about in a different way, but there is absolutely no scope left for us to come there (opposition).”

During the meeting, Thackeray reportedly gifted Fadnavis a book, titled Hindi chi sakti havi ch kashala? (Why should Hindi be compulsory?).

Besides, the Shiv Sena (UBT), which has 20 MLAs, has been demanding the post of Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly.
