The woman has been identified as Mona Bugalia aka 'Mooli' who has been on the run since 2003 after a complaint was filed against her in Jaipur.

According to a report by NDTV, she allegedly forged necessary documents and got into the police academy as 'Mooli Devi' and attended training sessions and even took pictures with actual officers for nearly two years.

According to official records she could not pass the Rajasthan sub-inspector recruitment exam in 2021.

She created false documents under the name 'Mooli Devi' and spread word that she had been selected as a sub-inspector through social media platforms.

According to the publication's report, she also joined a WhatsApp group which was exclusively only for sub-inspector recruits where she presented herself as a candidate from an earlier batch at the Rajasthan Police Academy enrolled through sports quota.

Bugalia was seen in full uniform regularly at the RPA parade grounds and also participated in outdoor drills, took pictures with ranking officers.

She also delivered a career awareness speech where she offered motivational advice to young aspirants, with senior police officials standing next to her.

Her fraud came to light after trainee sub-inspectors raised eyebrows doubting her identity.

According to NDTV, an internal inquiry was initiated after senior officials were informed which also led to questioning of Bugalia.

Admitting that she assumed a fake identity, Bugalia confessed that she wanted to impress her family and also wanted to exploit powers associated with police personnel.

Her pictures were shared on social media with people expressing their views on checks and verification during police recruitment.
