Chennai: “Eat 5 Star, Do Nothing” This is how the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) took a jibe at AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami through a 39-second satirical video posted on its social media pages on the occasion of World Chocolate Day.

Titled Do Nothing, the video depicts Palaniswami holding a chocolate bar in his left hand while scrolling through television channels.

It shows the lead character changing channels that broadcast news critical of the BJP, such as the three-language policy, AIADMK’s “silence” on NEET, the “injustice” to be inflicted on Tamil Nadu through the delimitation exercise, and the Centre’s reluctance to recognise Keeladi.

At the end of the video, a voiceover says, Eat 5 Star, do nothing, as the character takes a bite of the chocolate bar. The video, posted on all DMK social media handles, was released on the same day Palaniswami launched his campaign for the 2026 assembly polls.

The video takes a swipe at Palaniswami and the AIADMK for their “silence” on issues concerning Tamil Nadu, which the DMK attributes to their alliance with the BJP. The DMK has accused the AIADMK of surrendering the state’s rights to the BJP, particularly on language-related matters.

This sharp political satire comes shortly after the IT wings of the DMK and AIADMK clashed over a post by a ruling party sympathiser claiming that the AIADMK would be reduced to a wing of the BJP in the coming years.

When an AIADMK MP sought the postal address of the user on X (formerly Twitter), the DMK ecosystem defended the user and made the issue trend.

Chief Minister M K Stalin has been projecting the 2026 assembly elections as a contest between Tamil Nadu and Delhi (the Centre), with issues like state autonomy gaining traction in the state.
