Foods that help prevent cancer

It is true that we are what we eat. While some foods certainly help keep us healthy, it is essential to follow up a healthy diet with an active lifestyle.

Here are some foods that can help prevent different kinds of cancer:

Colon cancer

Avoid red meat, as it is known to instigate colon cancer. High-fibre diet is protective against colon cancer, as it consists of anti-oxidants. Eat lots of cucumber, carrots and corn. 

Breast cancer

High-fat diets during the pubertal age, obesity in the post-menopausal age, late marriage, nulliparity and late childbirth are well-known causes of breast cancer. A diet rich in legumes, like soya and peas, can help keep breast cancer at bay.

Cervical cancer

Consume turmeric, honey, coconut milk, and coconut oil on a regular basis. Also avoid multiple sexual partners and get a yearly vaginal check-up. This will help reduce the probability of cervical cancer.

Lung & liver cancer

Avoid smoking and intake of alcohol. Consume lots of tomatoes, berries, broccoli, garlic and green tea. These foods contain a lot of anti-oxidants that can help keep lung and liver cancer at bay.
