Kaas Plateau, Maharashtra: Kaas Plateau, a biodiversity hotspot of the Western Ghats, is located near the town of Satara in Maharashtra. Every year, between August and September, colourful wild flowers cover the entire plateau. It was even declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site recently.
Yumthang Valley of Flowers, Sikkim: Situated at about 3,564 metres above sea level in north Sikkim, Yumthang Valley of Flowers blooms with rhododendrons, poppies, iris and many other exotic flowers every year. Visit this floral heaven between late February and mid-June. It’s also home to Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary.
Munnar Valley, Kerala: Once every 12 years, the valley of Munnar beams bright with blue neelakurinji flowers. It bloomed last in 2006, so 2018 is the perfect time to visit this flower-laden valley. July to October is when you should head to Munnar. It is also home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr.
Dzukou Valley, Nagaland: Located at the border of Nagaland and Manipur is a lush green valley that comes alive with radiant flowers such as euphorbias, aconitums and others during the monsoons every year. Dzukou Valley is world-famous for its Dzukou lily, a rare flower found only in this part of the world.
