Now a days the problem of stress is very common. Almost all of us suffer from stress & so we need to find a method for distressing. Stress that is not properly dealt with can lead to many health problems, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, obesity, & diabetics. The first step is to diagnose the problem of stress. This is beginning of the process of distressing. Stress is actually a problem of starvation. Just our body needs food, without which we would go hungry, so also does our intellect need food.’ When we have a feeling of stress what actually experiencing is intellectual or spiritual starvation.
People today generally live in a self- centred world. They know about themselves, but remain unaware about others, Therefore, every person tends to overestimate himself while underestimating others. This disparity in thinking results in development of stress, if you are able to eliminate this disparity & adopt a realistic approach, one will certainly be able to lead a stress- free life. when we have a feeling of stress what we are actually experiencing is spiritual starvation. Therefore one must discover the art of feeding the intellect & will never complain of stress.
Stress is often due to recalling past failures and/or worrying about the future, A simple solution to the mental anguish caused by the past failures is to forget them; Similarly, a simple solution for worrying about the future is that you should think about the problem only if it becomes a reality rather than worry in advance. Frequently what one worries about does not become reality, so there is no need to worry about it beforehand. Bhagavad Gita says that body is made of grass matter, superior to it are the knowledge bearing senses beyond the senses is the mind, superior to the mind is intellect. Holy Quran says: Those who lack intellect are seen as the worst creatures in God’s sight.
A verse from Bible, “Give us our daily bread,” tells us that we need to feed our souls and relieve our spiritual starvation. Stress may be equated with intellectual starvation. Dr Radhakrishan said: “Though we have made enormous progress in knowledge and scientific inventions, but our minds and souls are starving. If we discover the art of feeding the intellect, we will never complain of stress.
