If there is one constant in this world, it is ‘change’. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the latest addition to our rapidly growing digital world. It has the ability to revolutionise the way we conduct our everyday affairs. We now live in an interconnected world in which physical distances no longer matter. As a result, if we hide ourselves in a cocoon and reject this marvel of technology that has created a storm across nations, we will be doing so at our own peril. India must expose youngsters to AI capabilities in order to prepare us for the competitive and challenging future. The major concern about AI is that it would result in widespread skill gaps and unemployment. To counter these, we have to invest heavily in education. Learning AI improves mathematical, logical, problem-solving, and data-analysis abilities. Joining the AI race would open up new and diversified streams and employment avenues. Its implementation provides several benefits across sectors, including better productivity, reduced costs, and higher quality goods and services. It will boost our economic growth, raising people’s per capita income and boosting their hopes for a better life.

According to me, India should not participate in the AI race. There are several reasons behind why I say this.
India is not that much familiar or experienced in the field of technology compared to other countries. As we know that AI was introduced to the world by the United States (US). It is important to note that the US is well-experienced and skilled in this area.
You would be aware that a coin has two sides. If we dig deeper into the topic of AI, you will get to learn about both the pros and cons of this particular technology. While AI has proved to be useful in the field of education, industries, banking, health care and much more, it is no secret that it still remains a digital threat to not just the country, but the entire world. Lately, there have been many incidents that prove this point — social media hacking, monetary scams, and a host of other cyber crimes.
These crimes will destroy the peaceful life of Indian citizens, and is likely to greatly impact the mental health of the youth.Furthermore, AI reduces the use of human brain and in future it can be a major reason for the degeneration of humans. Hence, I believe limiting the use of AI and similar technology will help in leading a peaceful life.
