Women do not invest in the likes of stocks, funds, real estate, gold, and many other financial investments largely due to a "lack of knowledge" on such matters, a survey published by Groww said.

The survey, which received over 28,000 responses, noted that 49 per cent or nearly half of the women who choose not to invest, do so owing to a lack of knowledge on investments. Another 32 per cent do not invest as they lack the savings needed to invest, while 13 per cent fear that they may lose their money in the market and not get back a return on investment.

The remaining 6 per cent of women let others invest on their behalf.
