Summer holidays are a time to unwind, enjoy Nature and dive into favourite outdoor activities that refresh the mind and body. For many, birdwatching and trekking are top choices.
Kushi Jain who’s an architecture student loves waking up early during her summer break to watch the sun rise over the hills. “Birdwatching is the perfect way to start my day. The peaceful chirping and the flutter of wings bring a sense of calm,” she says. Her mornings are spent in the quiet embrace of Nature, her binoculars in hand, as she observes various species that call the area home.
For Mohith Kumar, a techie, summer means trekking through dense forests and across rugged terrains. “Trekking is where I feel most alive,” he says. “The challenge of the trails, the fresh mountain air and the views from the top make the effort worth it every time.”
Yukti P, a student, finds joy in both activities. “Birdwatching and trekking go hand-in-hand for me. The hike to a perfect birding spot gives me a sense of accomplishment,” she says. Whether it’s spotting rare species or enjoying the serenity of a remote trail, both pursuits allow her to connect deeply with Nature.
Srisha, a blogger, is drawn to the thrill of discovering new places. “I love exploring untouched trails and finding hidden gems where Nature is at its best,” he says. His summer treks often lead to secluded spots where he can sit and watch birds in their natural habitat, marvelling at their graceful flight.
Ketan Gupta a filmmaker describes how birdwatching brings a sense of peace during his summer holidays. “Trekking through the forest gives me a chance to clear my mind, and birdwatching along the way offers a sense of connection with Nature,” he reflects. For him, the combination of these two activities is the ultimate summer escape.
I find adventure on water. Kayaking through a river, feeling the cool splash - summer is for paddling strong, embracing Nature and exploring hidden places only water can lead to.

I enjoy a mix of sports and relaxation. Beach volleyball with friends, toes in the sand and the sound of crashing waves - it’s the best way to stay active while soaking up the summer sun.

There’s nothing like the peace you feel while fishing. Sitting by the lake, watching the shimmering water - nothing beats the patience, excitement and satisfaction of catching a fish under the summer sky. I cherish the quiet thrill.
